In the 8th Century, in two wars (760 B.C & 720 B.C.), Assyria conquered all of Ancient Israel and Judah; All EXCEPT for a Tiny Remnant in the city of Jerusalem. This is known as “The Assyrian Captivity.” All 12 Tribes, minus that remnant in Jerusalem were carried away to Assyria (eastern Turkey, today). One used to hear of “the Lost Ten Tribes,” but that is inaccurate. All 12 were removed from the Land of Ancient Israel. These are the “Lost Tribes of Israel,” BUT they were NOT Lost to God.
In 610 B.C. Persia defeated Assyria. Although not Persia’s intention, a side effect of this was the release of the Israelites. But, in over 100 years of captivity, the Israelites lost most of their Identity. They lost their national name, Israel. Thereafter these people drifted North and West.
The Israelites only retained a kind of “Racial Memory” of their Identity in sounds of traditional names. These people became the Germanic Tribes, in Europe. The name of the German Tribe, “Saxons” – in German is spelled Sachsohne (with an umlaut – 2 dots over the ‘o’). For our purpose the word is “Sachson.” That reveals the racial memory: “Isaac’s Sons” corrupted by time, and illiteracy.
Similarly, the Germanic Tribe called “Jutes,” reveals the memory of the Israelite Tribe, “Judah.” And, the name, Denmark in English is Daenland; And, written in German it is spelled Danland with an umlaut over the “a’ in Dan. This is reminiscent of the Israelite Tribe, “Dan.”
Now, we can understand why Europe became the home of Christianity. God sent Paul to Greece to start a “Spiritual Prairie-Fire” among the “Lost Tribes,” the “Lost Sheep.” And, yes, the Sheep heard the voice of their Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
After the first century; That is by the year 1000 A.D., 90 percent of all the Christians in the World were in Europe. Europe was a Christian Continent, and it came to be called Christendom.
